"Sons of Anarchy" will return to its seventh and final season and the series will welcome a new sheriff after Eli Roosevelt died last season.

A new sheriff will come to town named Alice Johnson. Enstarz cited TV Line that Alice is a white female in her 40s who is "serious about her work but also boasts an edgy humor." Alice will replace Sheriff Eli Roosevelt (Rockmond Dunbar), who was shot and killed by Juice (Theo Rossi) in Season 6.

The network has been careful in releasing information about the seventh and final season of "Sons of Anarchy", except that Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and Gemma (Katey Sagal) are returning for the final season alongside the usual batch of supporting players. The unique and memorable characters of like Nero (Jimmy Smits) and Barosky (Peter Weller) will also return to the series.

Sutter also tweeted that an ally of the Samcro will be back in the show. "GRIM BASTARDS on S7 of SOA. Looking forward to seeing @MikeABeach. I'm fascinated by the delicate racial balance that exists between MCs," Sutter posted.

According to "Sons of Anarchy" creator Kurt Sutter, he is trying to get CCH Pounder to return as Tyne Patterson. However, the actress is already booked to star in the upcoming CBS drama "NCIS: New Orleans," which was a spinoff of NCIS. The "NCIS: New Orleans" will begin airing in the fall, suggesting that Pounder may not have time to even appear as a guest star in "Sons of Anarchy".

The production of the final season of the motorcycle drama will begin very soon. The report added that the script of the new season is being written well ahead of the filming.

The seventh season "Sons of Anarchy" will premiere in fall 2014 on FX. However, the network has not yet announced a specific air date.
