Hearing about the creeping trend of wearables slowly in the midst may eventually boil down to the way folks select their preferred mobile devices.
Specs will be important but seeing that these are practically stuff that people would be sporting around, style is equally essential. And from the looks of it, there could be two smartwatches vying to satisfy both — the Samsung Gear S2 and the Moto 360.
The Samsung Gear S2 is actually carrying a new name but has been around; it was previously known as Orbis and Gear A. The smartwatch is something that could be out by next month if rumors hold true that it will be among the gadgets set to be unveiled at the IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany.
The Samsung wearable, which will run on Tizen operating system (OS), already made an appearance at the company's Unpacked event in New York.
The Samsung Gear 2 will reportedly feature a circular AMOLED display screen and 360 x 360 pixel resolution. It that will run on an Exynos 3472 0.2 GHz processor backed by 768 MB RAM and up to 4 GB of internal storage. A 250 mAh battery will be tasked to provide its needed power and it will also come with a built-in Bluetooth. There is also word that a model with WiFi capabilities will come out.
For a smartwatch, the specs seem pretty decent. But wait, there is another one you may be interested in.
Motorola has a bet of its own with the Moto 360, something that runs on Android Wear OS.
The Moto 360 will boast of a 1.5-inch LCD display and 320x290 pixel resolution that will be amply backed by 512 MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a 320 mAh battery.
While the internal specs may be a hard one to call, let us bring out attention to the design proper.
The Samsung Gear S2 and the Moto 360 seems to be almost even as far as the outside is concerned, so it may all depend on ease of use.
Of the two, the Samsung Gear S2 may be a bit complicated for the ones not used to modern day tech. The Moto 360 may not be as sophisticated, but folks who want more features may find it too simple to have.
Which to get? It would depend on what satisfies a buyer's wants. More features or something that is easier to use.
