The fourth season of Fox's Sleepy Hollow may just be a reboot of sorts as Ichabod moves from New York to Washington, D.C.

Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) will also have to deal with the aftermath of his partner Abbie's (Nicole Beharie) loss in the last season. As a result, Ichabod has to find another partner and another team in the new state as most of his original team is already missing in action.

Ichabod may well be in luck as he will come into contact with another Witness when he reaches the US capital. Deadline reported that True Blood alum Janina Gavankar has been cast to play the role of Diana, a single mom and Special Agent with the Department of Homeland Security.

It also comes in handy that she's also a former military officer. However, sparks are expected to fly between Ichabod and Diana as the latter is not a big fan of the supernatural and Ichabod is basically all about the supernatural. Adding to the fact that they have opposite approaches to accomplishing missions, the season promises to be an interesting one.

Many fans of the show have expressed reservations about the productions' decision to cut Abbie from the show in a surprise twist since she was one of the central characters of the show. While her exit from the show was both dramatic and left a profound impact, it did not change the fact that the show was losing one of its strongest characters.

Even Tom Mison thought that his character was the sidekick to Beharie's character since she was the one the audience related to amid all the twists and turns of the story. He said she was the one who grounded Ichabod and kept the viewers connected to the story.

"I never really was, funnily enough, interested in Ichabod's backstory in the beginning...that changed a lot in season two when they then did start to explore Ichabod's backstory and family and things, so it'll be interesting to be where they go without that crutch because I still think Abbie was grounding that as well. I'll be very curious to see whether they decide to find another way to ground Ichabod in reality or whether they think he's an inhabitant of the modern era enough that he can do it on his own. I don't know what they're planning, but I don't envy them having to make that decision!" he said in an interview with E!
