'Sleepy Hollow' season 2 episode 13 spoilers: Ichabod, Katrina, and Abbie haunted by the past

Last night's return of "Sleepy Hollow" season 2 left viewers waiting for more action. In episode 12 of the horror procedural drama titled "Paradise Lost," Ichabod (Tom Mison) and Abbie (Nichole Beharie) met a black-winged angel named Orion (Max Brown), who they believe will help them get rid of the demon Moloch (D.J. Mifflin). Meanwhile, Ichabod's wife Katrina (Katia Winter) is still not giving up on Abraham (Neil Jackson) as she continuously tries to prove that her former suitor still has a good side.

But last night's midseason premiere is not the end of all the action-packed supernatural drama. In next week's episode titled "Pittura Infamante," Ichabod and Abbie's adventures will continue to unravel more surprises from the past. The official synopsis for episode 13 reads:

"After the mysterious death of an art restorer at the Sleepy Hollow Historical Society Soiree, Ichabod and Katrina are reminded of a dear friend from their past – Abigail Adams (guest star Michelle Trachtenberg). Meanwhile, Abbie is shocked by someone's visit to the police precinct."

Reports say that a long lost art that is meant to put a person to shame will resurface after it was discontinued a few centuries back. Will it affect Ichabod or Katrina's present life?

On the other hand, rumors are rife that Abbie's newest surprise mentioned in the synopsis will also shock the viewers, as her former boss and supposedly dead Captain Frank Irving (Orlando Jones) will be the one who will visit her this time. She will allegedly tell Ichabod about her new discovery, but he will just dismiss the information and will tell her that the Captain's appearance is just the effect of the dark arts.

"Sleepy Hollow" season 2 episode 13 airs on Jan. 19 on FOX.
