Sharp recently unveiled their Aquos Xx3 mini smartphone. It does not have a fancy name, but it contains some interesting features. It already runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

The Sharp Aquos Xx3 mini is a compact Android smartphone that is equipped with a 4.7-inch Full HD IGZO display screen that offers a 469 ppi pixel density and 1080p resolution. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, paired with 3 GB of RAM.

The new device also comes with 16 GB internal storage that is expandable via a microSD card slot. It has a 21 MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, optical image stabilization (OIS), and LED flash. Its 8 MP front facing camera also comes with its own LED flash and a 100-degree viewing angle lens. It also features the NightCatch 2 technology that takes care of selfies and images taken at dimly lit places. The phones' power requirements are handled by its 2,400 mAh battery.

The connection options include 4G LTE VoLTE-ready, with speeds up to 187.5Mbps down and 37.5Mbps u, dual-band WiFi, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.2. It is also water and dust resistant but up to what extent remains unknown. It weighs 135 grams and comes with a 135x67x8.6mm measurement. There will be five colors to choose from, namely Black, Blue, Pink, White, and Green.

The Sharp Aquos Xx3 mini is scheduled to be released in February 2017 and expected around to be below the $300 price mark.

The last Android phone released by the multi-national giant was the almost bezel-less Aquos Mini that was made available around in July on the Japanese market. It is a 4.7-inch device powered by a Snapdragon 820, paired with 3 GB of RAM. It also came with an IGZO screen, 16 GB internal storage, and a 13 MP main camera.

Consumers who are planning to have a backup Android smartphone, those who does not really need the high-end features offered by flagship models, can consider the Sharp Aquos Xx3 mini.
