BioWare's "Shadow Realms" is reportedly having a facelift. The supposed reboot of BioWare Austin's episodic online role playing game was reported by Kotaku even before the game's alleged release this year.

Kotaku received several insider information earlier saying that the game developer is planning to scrap its plans of a four-versus-one multiplayer game, which was announced during GamesCom 2014. However, another source told the website that the game will not be cancelled. Instead, it is being given a major overhaul for its future path.

The alleged "credible" source mentioned that "Shadow Realms" will now be launched in full campaign. It even shared that BioWare Austin is planning to launch the game for multiple platforms like the Xbox 360,Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2017, instead of the earlier announcement made by BioWare Austin general manager Jeff Hickman saying that the game will only be launched on the PC platform.

Although the alleged reboot of the game is not yet verified by the developer, the news about its cancellation has already been refuted by a BioWare executive. Back in December 2014, BioWare Austin's community manager Eric Musco told awaiting players that they will not cancel the game.

"Don't worry. We are hard at work on Shadow Realms as I type this. I know we have become a bit quiet but this is no need for alarm. As soon as we have an update on our plans we will definitely put it on [the official site]," he said.

In August 2014, the game developer asked interested players to sign up for an alpha testing phase of the game, but the gaming company decided to delay the scheduled alpha until late October. This week, the game's online servers were disconnected by the developer, which made those who are interested in the game panic.

BioWare has so far not confirmed the claims of the sources.
