'Sense8' season 2 plot spoilers: Other sensates to be added?

Sense8 Netflix

It has already been confirmed that Netflix's original science fiction drama "Sense8" will be back for a second season. Although it is still early to confirm, fans of the series are already speculating on what will happen in the course of season 2, particularly the possible plotlines and release date of the upcoming season.

According to Yibada, if the timing for the release of the first season is to be the basis for upcoming "Sense8" episodes, fans may expect the premiere episode of season 2 in the middle of 2016, around June. Season 1 was released by Netflix last June 5, consisting of 12 episodes.

The first season of "Sense8" chronicled the lives of eight people in different parts of the world. They don't have anything in common. However, in a twist of fate, all of them became "sensates," which made the eight strangers mentally and emotionally linked to one another. "Sense8" season 1 starred Aml Ameen, Brian J. Smith, Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton, Max Riemelt, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Tina Desai and Tuppence Middleton.

Since the fate of the characters in the first season was open-ended, fans speculate that this will branch out in different stories. Meanwhile, there were also speculations that there will be additional characters come season 2.

In an interview with AssignmentX last August, series producer J. Michael Straczynski teased that there may be other clusters out there, with individuals also possessing the evolutionary feature of linking their minds. Straczynski said, "Some of them will be more [attuned to the commonality of being in a cluster], some will say, "I'm hiding out, don't reveal me," the value of not being seen. So not all Sense8s will be naturally good people. Some people with that ability might not be the best people. So there's a whole range of them."
