"Sense8" season 2 is finally happening.

About two months after the freshman season of the new science fiction drama aired its finale, Netflix has announced the Web series' renewal by tweeting a video of its cast members Aml Ameen, Jamie Clayton, Doona Bae and the rest of the gang singing a "Happy birthday" song.

Before season 2 was made official, fans of the show started to get worried with the absence of a renewal announcement knowing the show has potential and has established a worldwide fanbase, which, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is a criteria Netflix considers in renewing its shows.

The Verge says that Netflix does not usually take this long in renewing or axing series. The longest time Netflix took in doing such was just one month.

But as Bae assured in the clip, "We are coming back. Yay! Season 2! See you on Netflix."

Series creator and executive producer J. Michael Straczynski previously revealed that he was "cautiously optimistic" about season 2. During the Television Critics Association summer tour last month, he revealed that he was "still awaiting word" but was confident that the show would get a second run.

"There's been a tendency for science fiction to be seen as something other than for adults — it tends to be about either the MacGuffin, the device, the magic, the gadget, the gimmick or the mission," Straczynski said via The Hollywood Reporter. "We wanted to make this show about the journey and [do something] for grown-ups."

In the same evet, Straczynski also shared his plans for season 2.

"Season one is like an origin story and season two has some particular arc, and we figure it out from there. But to spoil that here would not be the best interest of the surprise at the end," he stated via Variety

There is currently no word when "Sense8" season 2 will air but the group of eight will be back for sure.
