The spoilers and the trailers have been suggesting only one thing – Fitz and Olivia's romance will finally be in full-swing in "Scandal" season 5. But there's still the worry of how long it will go on before things turn bad again, knowing how cruel fate has been to the lovebirds.

Whether their intimate moments will be heartbreakingly transitory or not, fans will know in a matter of days. The show returns on Sept. 24 and right then and there, they will be treated with steamy Olitz moments and royal-level issues.

In the "Scandal" season 5 premiere titled "Heavy Is the Head," Liv is also getting a new gig. The synopsis reads: "When a visit from the Queen of Caldonia and her family turns into a tragedy, Olivia is hired to make sure the Royal family's private life stays private."

In the background, fans will see Mellie, Jake and Huck going about their own problems. Fitz wants Mellie out and is asking for a divorce. While the first lady is presented no other choice but to accept this decision, it looks as if she isn't willing to see the president savor a happy ending just yet, at least not without her.

Meanwhile, Jake, who finally accepted the fact that the woman he loves has her heart invested in someone else, won't be going anywhere. The love martyr will be up to some destructive things this season, and those things have the capacity to change everything for the bad.

Huck, meanwhile, has the means to go completely insane in "Scandal" season 5. While Quinn is just one click away from blowing his head off, it is speculated that she will spare his life, and sadly, Huck won't make good but will actually go further downhill from there.

Another potential trouble that will break the fun for Olivia and Fitz is that Papa Pope might be out of prison soon. The Gladiators have worked hard in putting him behind bars. Some of them died doing this but will all that pay off in the long run? After all, it is in the Popes' blood to not go down easy.

"Scandal" season 5 premieres Sept. 24.  Catch it online via live stream on ABC.com
