The new drafting season is already up, and everyone is excited about whom the San Antonio Spurs will pick for this year. They have a reputation for having a keen eye for international players who deliver quite well on the field.

This time, they are speculated to have their eye on another promising name: Davis Bertans, a 23-year old-Latvian with a good record of 7.8 points and 2.5 rebounds.

According to Inquisitr, the Spurs are planning to offer him a minimum contract for 2016-2017. His performance was previously derailed by two ACL injuries, but he is reportedly already fully recovered and capable of performing in top shape for the new season. This sharpshooter is said to be capable of playing in both forward positions, and he can manage split-second switches from a good catch, a dribble, or a shot.

Sports Glory reports that the San Antonio Spurs are "looking to move up from the No. 29 overall pick" from the 2016 NBA drafting season. Their roster might have been very promising, and provided great results, but age is still a factor. Both Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili could very well be retiring this season. Thus it is time for the Spurs to start bringing in fresh talent once again.

The Spurs' previous rosters included Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Boris Diaw, Boban Marjanovic, Tony Parker and Patty Mills. Other international players that they have drafted include Luis Scola, Nando de Colo, Ian Mahinmi, Tiago Splitter, Goran Dragic and Leandro Barbosa.

Bright Side of The Sun speculates that a good trade option for the San Antonio Spurs would be the Phoenix Suns, who own number 4, 13, and 28. This move may actually bring them higher up in the food chain in what seems to be the first time in five years. The Sixer Sense, on the other hand, reports that a trade with the Philadehia 76ers would be more possible, since the San Antonio Spurs are very interested in landing Nerlens Noel for their team. According to Chat Sports, the Spurs are also very interested in bagging Mike Conley, who is one of the most sought-after free agents for this season.
