Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. Sony Xperia Z4: hardward specs, display and camera

Recently, Sony has announced the release of its next flagship, the Xperia Z4. Although the device is only available in Japan right now, observers say that the Z4 will eventually be released in the global market. But how will the Xperia Z4 fare against other flagship products, like the Samsung Galaxy S6?

Hardware specs

Since the Xperia Z4 was just recently launched, it sports the latest from Qualcomm, a quad-core Snapdragon 810 processor. The new 810 has a 64-bit architecture, and the only issue that observers note with this chipset is the excessive heat concerns, as phones with 810 chipsets reportedly tend to overheat.

The Galaxy S6, on the other hand, has an octa-core Exynos 7420 processor. Being proprietary, Samsung spared nothing in making its processor one of the best so far, made with a 14nm chip that makes the S6 fast, responsive, and offers better performance.

Display

The new Xperia Z4's screen is much like its predecessor, the Z3, with a full HD screen offering sharp images in 1080 x 1920 resolution. In terms of pixel density though, the S6 has the Z4 beat.

The Galaxy flagship offers a high 577 ppi pixel density in a Super AMOLED display. With multi-touch technology and 16 M colors, the S6 offers crisp and detailed images for its users. However, the display is also one of the main factors that cause fast battery drain.

Camera

Sony is already a leader when it comes to smartphone cameras, and the Z4 is no exception. Offering a 20.7 MP main shooter at the back and a 5.1 MP front cam, the Z4 takes images with Exmor RS sensor and an incredible image processor.

The Galaxy S6's camera features a new HDR option, where users can see what the photo would look like in real time, although the device's shooter still has issues with images shot in low light.
