Although Samsung's launch of its Galaxy S7 lineup is what tech observers are looking forward to, some hardcore fans are already looking beyond the Galaxy S7 release as it is also rumored that a new Galaxy Note will be launched this year.

Speculations on what the much-awaited Galaxy Note 6 will feature have already started floating online. According to rumors, Samsung is planning the new Galaxy Note to be a powerhouse, carrying a massive 6-GB RAM as a main feature.

MobiPicker said that the rumor came out from China, and although the detail was taken from social networking site Weibo, the sources for the speculation are sketchy. However, although it may be unfounded information at this stage, a Galaxy Note having a 6-GB RAM is a plausible idea.

According to the industry follower, being a premiere flagship lineup, Samsung is always making sure that a new Galaxy Note iteration carries a trailblazing feature when it launches. Should the massive RAM capacity for the Galaxy Note 6 be proven true, it will again establish a new baseline for premium flagship products, since it will be the first smartphone to carry 6 GB of RAM.

Meanwhile, Hardware Zone said that aside from having a 6-GB RAM, the upcoming Galaxy Note 6 will also carry a bigger display. Speculations place the new Galaxy Note to have a 5.8-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, a slightly bigger dimension than the current-gen Samsung Galaxy Note 5's 5.7-inch screen.

Other rumored specs of the Galaxy Note 6 include two variants for the lineup, with Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890 processors. This speculation is also credible since Samsung is reportedly introducing a two-version feature for the Galaxy S7 iterations.

As for the release date of Galaxy Note 6, Samsung may be planning a late 2016 launch, since the first half of the year has been planned for the Galaxy S7 release.
