'Riverdale' season 2 plot, cast news: First look at rumored Bughead splitter Toni Topaz

Don't tell the Bugheads, but "Riverdale" fans' first look at Toni Topaz has finally arrived.

"Riverdale" season 2 is coming to TV screens this October and the South Side Serpents have made their social media debut.

A tweet from the official Archie Comics account shows the South Side Serpents in full, fierce black leather regalia. The South Side students are seen sitting on top of what looks like a graffiti-decorated, dilapidated sofa.

Vanessa Morgan plays Toni Topaz, the rumored third party to the Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) love team called "Bughead."

Beside her is Jordan Connor, who sports an overgrown haircut and a leather jacket, while Drew Ray Tanner completes the trio with his stone-faced charm.

Of the three, Morgan has received the most public attention — in the form of death threats. Overexcited fans have previously bullied the actress following the revelation that Toni might stir trouble between Betty and Jughead.

"She's a Southside Serpent, a gang member, and Jughead's first friend," Morgan told Glamour in August. "So I might stir up the pot a bit with the Bughead relationship. There might be a little love triangle."

"I've already had some death threats," Morgan added. "But the thing is, it's half death threats because they don't want that [actually] happening, and there's half that's just all love. Who knows if [my character coming between Bughead] is even going to happen. People are just jumping to conclusions."

Jughead will be transferring to South Side following his dad landing in jail, which means less time with his girlfriend Betty.

As for on-screen tension, Morgan said that working with Reinhart and Sprouse has been nothing but smooth sailing. The two have been welcoming and Morgan admitted that it is "great doing scenes with them."

Whether or not that means Jughead, Betty and Toni will be confronting each other in one scene will be up for viewers to watch out.

"Riverdale" season 2 premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
