Rick and Morty season 3 release date, spoilers: writer promises best season ever as show re-visits interdimensional cable idea

Good news for Rick and Morty fans.

For the first time, Rick and Morty will be featuring 14 episodes, which is four episodes longer than the 10 episodes ordered for both seasons 1 and 2. This means production will have additional time to tell tell its story.

As a matter of fact, writer Mike McMahan promised the fans that this season is going to be the best installement of the series.

He however, shied away from promising a release date, and said instead that greatness takes time.

As for the plot of the third season, the show's co creator Justin Roiland has said that are still considering the interdimensional cable idea for the show after fans didn't respond too well to the concept.

"Possibly, yeah, we're figuring it out. It's very rough on production. It's not an easy episode to make. We're introducing something amazing we can't say much about, but there's probably room for both, ultimately. I'd be down to do it," he said.

Some development will happen for Rick, who was last seen in an intergalactic prison. After tangling with a prison general, it is expected that Rick will be able to escape with the help of an ally.

As far as spoilers go, concept art that has been revealed on the Rick and Morty Twitter featuring the look of the next villain of the season.

The account also shared a snap of Morty's empty garage.

"Morty's garage is looking a little... Rickless," the caption read.

For his part, co –creator Dan Harmon revealed some teases about two episodes with one possibly tackling the issue of alcoholism.

The other one involves Rick trying to get out of going to a place he doesn't want to go by literally turning himself into a pickle.

Rick and Morty Season 3 is expected to return to Adult Swim later this year.
