"Revenge" season 4 is suspected to feature David Clarke as a villain.

The final episode previous season was a total cliffhanger after a lot of characters exited the series and the way things turned out. First, Aiden was killed by Victoria who is now staying in a mental hospital by Emily's doing. Moreover, Conrad Grayson is left on the side of the road bleeding to death after he was attacked by David Clarke.

Yes, David Clarke, who everyone thought was dead. According to the back story, David Clarke was killed in prison for taking down Flight 197. He was also accused of terrorism. Now, he is back. He is the prime motivation of Emily's revenge.

However, showrunner Sunil Nayar told People magazine, "David Clarke is alive, but he is not at all the man that Emily or Victoria thinks they knew."

The reintroduction of David Clarke as a series regular sparked speculation that he will be the villain next season. After all, he was accused of terrorism and taken away from his family, before faking his own death and then keeping a super low key profile for 20 years.

According to the series' writer Aaron Harberts, David Clarke will bring trouble to a lot of people next season because of his unfavorable position caught in between of two women.

The cast and crew went back to work as the production for the much anticipated season 4 of the hit suspense TV series resumed on July 11. The producer of "Revenge" spilled that the next season will tap to the emotions of the characters.

However, very few details about season 4 emerged, but the final episode of season 3 set the stage for the next season. People are anticipating the next moves of the character, the upcoming characters and the role that David Clarke will play after he comes back.

"Revenge" season 4 will return to ABC on September 28.
