Republican Presidential Polls 2016: Marco Rubio expresses Christian faith in new TV ad

Republican presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio made attempts to slow down the momentum of competitor Ted Cruz in Iowa by releasing an ad highlighting his Christian faith.

In a 30-second ad spot released last Thursday, Rubio gave a reminder to focus not only on the temporary, but on the eternal, then placed a great emphasis on cooperating with God's will.

"Our purpose in life is to cooperate with God's plan," Rubio said in the ad spot. "To those whom much has been given much is expected, and we will be asked to account for that. Were your treasures stored up on earth or in heaven? And, to me, I try to allow that to influence me in everything that I do."

According to a Quinnipiac University poll, Rubio trails behind Cruz and Donald Trump amongst republicans in Iowa. Trump holds on to a slim lead with 31 percent of votes with Cruz trailing closely behind with 29 percent. Rubio has 15 percent of votes in the January voters' poll.

According to Oklahoman City News, Rubio recently received heat from environment advocates when the candidate was endorsed by Sen. Jim Inhofe, who is most known for being a threat to climate change movements. Inhofe is most well-known for calling climate change a hoax, and has been going against claims of man-made global warming eversincme he started serving in public office in 1994.

In his endorsement, Inhofe called the presidential candidate Rubio a "solid conservative" and added that he would be a competitive candidate to go against Hillary Clinton, considering she clinches the Democratic nomination.

Rubio is currently the junior United States Senator for the state of Florida, and has served in the position since January 2011, and is one of the Republican presidential candidates for the 2016 elections.

The United States presidential election of 2016 is scheduled for Nov. 8, 2016.
