Red Dead Redemption 2 release date rumors: Rockstar to finally answer release question with an announcement soon?

Red Dead Redemption Rockstar Games

Solid fans of Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption franchise who were disappointed that Red Dead Redemption 2 was not included in the list of upcoming releases by the studio this year may have something to look forward to.

According to a report by BitBag, because of the strong support from gamers, Rockstar may be cooking up something special for the fans by making a special announcement for the game instead of using major game expos like Gamescom for the reveal.

The report hinted that based on Rockstar's trend, it does not make announcements for its major games in gaming conventions but rather opt to keep fans excited and at the edge of their seats before it springs the game in the market.

When GTA 5 was announced, it was not at the E3 conference but only through a newswire. The same was true for Red Dead Redemption when it was simply announced by the studio without warning in 2009.

As for the plot and details of the game, there are still speculations that the game will go by Red Dead Redemption instead of Red Dead Redemption 2 to complete a trilogy. The first two releases were Red Dead Revolver and Red Dead Redemption.

Fans are also hoping that the new game will feature new landscapes to make it more complex and exciting for the players. As the previous game was connected with the Blackwater settlement, the new game is expected to expand the coverage of the territory to nearby environs.

The game may also feature side quests to add new challenges to the game according to Game n Guide.

There are also rumors that the new installment will be set on a different era and could feature a younger version of protagonist John Marston. If this materializes the game could be set for 1911 and allows developers to introduce a new set of characters to interact with Marston as he sets out to complete his mission.
