Razer has reopened pre-orders for its 2016 version of its Razer Blade gaming laptop. U.S. based gamers will start receiving their machines by Oct. 25. The latest model is powered by NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1060 graphics processing unit.
The Razer Blade is now ready for pre-orders again after it was announced a month ago. The gaming beast packs a 6th Gen Intel i7-6700HQ quad-core processor with a base clock speed of 2.6 GHz and a boosted 3.5 GHz clock speed. It is then paired with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and the NVIDIA GTX 1060 armed with 6 GB of VRAM.
It is loaded with the Windows 10 64-bit operating system, with PCIe M.2. There are SSD options of 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB storage space. It also comes with a 14-inch multi-touch IGZO QHD plus screen that offers a 3200 x 1800 display resolution. An optional 14-inch IPS Full HD Matte display with 1920 x 1080 resolution is also available.
Additional features include an anti-ghosting keyboard with per-key lighting powered by Razer Chroma, a Killer Wireless-AC Wi-Fi adapter (with built-in Bluetooth 4.1), a single Thunderbolt 3 port, and three USB 3.0 port. An HDMI 2.0 and 3.5 mm headphone/microphone combo ports are also included, as well as a 2-MP webcam. A set of built-in stereo speakers also come with the device.
It also arrives with a Dolby Digital Plus Home Theater Edition sound system, 7.1 Codec support (via HDMI), an embedded Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0) security chip, and a Kensington security slot. The power requirement is provided by a built-in 70 Wh rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery and its compact 165W power adapter.
The 2016 Razer Blade's selling price starts at $1,799 for the 256 GB SSD model. Every purchase entitles a free full license copy of FL Studio 12 Producer Edition, a music production software valued at $199. The company is also offering a $100 discount for its Razer Core graphics enclosure, valued at $499 if both items will be purchased at the same time, which can be shipped as early as early as Oct. 25. A worldwide release is scheduled for November.
