'Pretty Little Liars' season 6B spoilers: Spencer's heart breaks over Toby's new love

Toby moves on from Spencer in "Pretty Little Liars" season 6B. ABC Family

"Spoby" shippers will be heartbroken to learn that their favorite couple has split up when the hit ABC series "Pretty Little Liars" returns for season 6B in January.

According to Variety, Toby (Keegan Allen) will find a new love interest within the five-year time-jump in the new installment. A woman named Yvonne, to be played by actress Kara Royster, will begin carving her niche in the cop's life soon after their chance encounter in a crime scene. Toby is reportedly off-duty when he unfortunately walks into a robbery. As he is about to apprehend the suspects, he will be meeting the girl who is destined to become an important person in his life. So what happened to his relationship with Spencer (Troian Bellisario)?

Apparently, their six-year love affair will end before the jump, and Spencer will attend Georgetown, move to Capitol Hill and pursue her political ambitions. Toby will use his inheritance to buy three acres of land just outside Rosewood. He will then build his dream house there while continuing his work as a police. Unfortunately for fans, it looks like he has officially moved on from his break up with Spencer and living the life he has always wanted.

Executive producer Marlene King hinted in her interview that Yvonne would be playing a very important role in Toby's life. Viewers would reportedly see her first appear in episode 4 and two more episodes.

"He's extremely involved with someone, other than Spencer. We'll find out early on that with two people who grew apart, but still love each other so very much, this is the first person he's really been able to care about since he and Spencer grew apart," she said.

With the Liars already over their high school trauma and working, viewers can expect to see more mature characters on their screen for season 6B. The premiere episode is scheduled to air on Jan. 12, 2016 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
