The claws are out in the upcoming episode of the hit series "Pretty Little Liars."
In "The Gloves Are On," the promo reveals that Hanna (Ashley Benson) is not as aloof as she pretends to be regarding her break up with Caleb (Tyler Blackburn). In the teaser, she is asking Spencer (Troian Bellisario), point blank, if she likes her former boyfriend. Apparently, Hanna has taken note of the suspicious closeness of the two during the dinner party that Allison (Sasha Pieterse) hosted for her friends. Clearly surprised by Hanna's question, Spencer can do nothing but stare at her friend, which the blonde translates as yes.
Last episode, viewers learned that during the five-year time-jump, Spencer and Caleb spent some time together in Europe. She was there studying, while Hanna's ex was on a backpacking trip. Spencer said they went to a bullfight and had several drinks in a park, where they watched the sunrise together. Both agreed that it was their best time in Europe. During the time they were together, Hanna appeared to be okay. Her fiancée Jordan (David Coussins) was with her and they seemed happy. She also got to talk to Caleb later on and they had nothing but good words to each other.
The teaser shows, however, that Hanna took note of the subtle hint of romance between the pair. Her expression when her friend fails to answer the question looks pained and horrified. It is clear she did not see it coming. Even Spencer's sister, Melissa (Torrey de Vitto), could not help but comment on their "friendship." She is asking Spencer when their dynamics changed, which her sister answers with a firm, "We're friends." Melissa then tells Spencer that she is more comfortable lying than she thinks.
Has Spencer really fallen for Caleb? This means she has really moved on from Toby (Keegan Allen), which is definitely a sad news for "Spoby" shippers. Her guilty reaction to Melissa's taunting speaks volumes about what she is currently feeling. Caleb does look like he also sees Spencer in a different light now. Does this mean viewers are going to see the birth of a new love team in the series?
