Did Ezra (Ian Harding) kill Charlotte (Vanessa Ray) as payback for what she did to Aria (Lucy Hale) all those years in "Pretty Little Liars"?

Last episode, the spotlight was on the Liars' former English teacher, as evidences revealed that he was out the night Charlotte died. Allison's (Sasha Pieterse) unstable sister was found at the foot of the bell tower, already dead. It looked like suicide at first, but investigation revealed she was murdered. The trial pointed to the killer being someone who had grudge with the blonde. Many were on the list, including the girls, but they all had a good alibi, except perhaps Aria.

The security footage at the hotel they were staying at showed her up and about at around the same time Charlotte was being murdered. Aria told her friends she went to her car, but she had been gone close to two hours. It was then revealed she was with ex-boyfriend Ezra, and they were taking a stroll near the bell tower where Charlotte's body was found. According to Aria, she left Ezra alone after a while, as he still wanted to walk around.

Soon after, Alison was looking for her sister and she asked the girls to help her. They found her broken body, but her hand nails had been wiped clean. Her killer made sure no incriminating evidence would lead the murder to him/her. After Aria's revelation, Ezra had become the number one suspect. The girls will, apparently, go to see him and ask his whereabouts that night, but they will be surprised at how he will answer them.

The promo shows the usually calm and collected Ezra shouting at the Liars. He is telling Aria that he is not going to say sorry that her tormentor is dead, because he is not. It looks like the girls' questioning will piss him off, as the next cut shows him screaming that they get out. Is this a confirmation that he did kill Charlotte?

"Pretty Little Liars" season 6 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Freeform (formerly ABC Family).
