Nintendo announced that a new "Pokémon" spin-off, "Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon," will come out this year. No other details are available on the gameplay and how the story will play out, but it seems the new title will involve evolving areas.

According to a press release posted on Business Wire, "Players can look forward to even greater, randomly created dungeons that change each time they enter."

Special Pokémon will also be at hand to help trainers in completing the game.

"In 'Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon', players will battle alongside Legendary and Mythical Pokémon to save the world in a sweeping tale of adventure and mystery."

However, there are still no details on who among the numerous Pokémon will be available on the upcoming title. The original Pokémon numbered at 151 when the episodes for the TV series were shown in 1996. With the addition of several generations of Pokémon, it is believed that there are already 718 Pokémon spread out across the franchise.

Since the Pokémon franchise launched first in Japan in 1996, "Super Mystery Dungeon" is expected to appear first in Japan and Asia this coming autumn, with North America getting the release before the year ends. Meanwhile, Europe and the rest of the global market will probably get a title launch date of early 2016.

According to the press release, the new title will be released for the Nintendo 3DS. This latest installment is part of the hugely popular "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon" series, which has sold more than 13 million units worldwide.

"Pokémon" is a huge hit popular series that started out as an animated TV series and branched out to other media, including trading cards, movies, games, and other home entertainment media.

The "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon" series has been released on the Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, 3DS, and also as a downloadable title for Wii.
