'Pokemon GO' rare Pokemon starting to spawn: players still haven't found Dratini

With the new Buddy system for the hit alternate reality game "Pokemon GO" already out, a lot of users are still having difficulty finding all the Pokemon they want since this system only allows users to "walk" a Pokemon they already possess in order to evolve it with the candies obtained through it.

As such, it looks like Niantic has been doing some under-the-table updates for the game, primarily to ensure that the spawn rate for the much rarer Pokemon to be higher than original Pokemon.

According to Game Rant, a lot of users who go to the "Pokemon GO" Reddit thread have been reporting that the rarer Pokemon spawn rate has been increasing steadily and substantially over the past weeks. Additionally, some other users have been claiming that a number of new nests have been discovered as if Pokemon were migrating, which could possibly mean that in general, Pokemon are spawning more now than they did in the past.

While these claims are still unconfirmed, a lot of fans are claiming that this Reddit group posted a rather convincing photo on Imgur, which shows some rare Pokemon in their Sightings tool.

However, some users reported no change in the nests and spawn rates, so it is quite difficult to assess whether these allegations are true or not. For now, users would be wise to just wait for Niantic to give confirmation on whether or not the spawn rates of certain Pokemon have been altered.

Right now, University Herald reports that even with the Pokemon migration, it seems that most players are still bereft of any Dratini nests. After all, Dragonite is still one of the most coveted Pokemon around due to its strength, and without access to a reliable source of Dratinis, leveling up or even obtaining this Pokemon is a bit laborious, to say the least.
