Transgender bathroom rights: Phil Robertson says it's 'common sense' bathrooms should be used according to biological gender

Phil Robertson, the outspoken patriarch of the reality TV show "Duck Dynasty," has shared his thoughts on the transgender bathroom controversy currently gripping the state of North Carolina.

Robertson sent out an eye-opening email to conservatives over the weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "This is Phil Robertson from Duck Commander and I've got a radical idea," he says. "Men should use the men's bathroom and women should use the women's bathroom."

"Just because a man may 'feel' like a woman doesn't mean he should be able to share a bathroom with my daughter, or yours. That used to be called common sense. Now it's called bigoted," he continues.

North Carolina has come under intense fire after its legislature passed House Bill 2, which prohibits cities from enacting ordinances that would allow people to use public bathrooms and locker rooms based on their preferred gender. The LGBT community slammed the law for being anti-gay, but many Christians applauded the law since it would protect women and children from sexual predators.

Gov. Pat McCrory is resisting all threats made to boycott the state and withhold federal funding, saying that he remains firm in upholding the law. He said he is only after the best interests of his constituents.

Robertson agrees. Even though the reality TV star made no mention of the woes faced by North Carolina in his email, the state is right smack in the middle of the transgender bathroom controversy.

Robertson hopes that America will revert from its "evil ways," noting that morality is spiralling out of control. "The Judeo-Christian values that led America to greatness are under full assault by the mob mentality of political correctness, and we're slowly losing our soul," he says.
