'Peaky Blinders' season 4 spoilers, plot news: Family drama looms after season 3 finale; Tommy tries to the regain family's trust

Trust issues among the family will prove to be one of the main challenges for Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) when "Peaky Blinders" returns for its fourth season.

According to a report by Movie News Guide, the series — which takes place in 1919 England — promises to be even more complicated after the season 3 finale showed members of the Shelby family nabbed by the authorities because of Tommy. The strong foundation of trust has crumbled, especially when Tommy shows no remorse following this major blow to the Shelby Company.

The report hinted at divisiveness within the family as there may be those who will be taking Tommy's side. It has been speculated that one member who will not understand his motives is Michael, who has spent plenty of time away from his kin.

In an interview with Cillian Murphy, he provided some insight into the actions of his character and promised more excitement come Season 4. "I think his family think[s] that he's betrayed them, and it will be up to Tommy to demonstrate to them that he hasn't betrayed them, and that he has a bigger plan. The question is what that bigger plan is. Who is he going to call? What's going to happen to the family? Can he ever get that level of trust or love back again?"

However, he added that his character will remain driven because of what happened to him during World War 1, hinting that Tommy will not be retiring to the pipe and slippers lifestyle yet.

Some reports say that Alfie Solomons (Tom Hardy) — Tommy's adversary in the previous seasons — may actually become his ally in the upcoming season.

In other "Peaky Blinders" news, several names are being floated as Tommy's potential love interest, especially after his short-lived marriage to Grace (Anabelle Wallis). Among actresses being pitched by the fans are Cherrelle Skeete, Esther Smith, Cat Deeley, and Felicity Jones.

No official premiere date has been announced yet for season 4 of BBC Two's "Peaky Blinders."
