'Parks and Recreation' season 7: New trailer shows drones roaming around Pawnee in '2017'

The premiere for the seventh and final season of "Parks and Recreation" is right around the corner, and its first teaser video has finally been released. The promo trailer, which was posted on Entertainment Weekly, shows what the year 2017 will look like and it gives viewers a glimpse of Pawnee's future.

The trailer for the upcoming season premiere of NBC's critically acclaimed political satire mockumentary shows drones flying to deliver goods for Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) and Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott). The two are shocked with what they see, and Leslie makes another ode to The Notebook.

She says, "Take my hand. Let's get into the bed like The Notebook."

The future of the other characters is also shown. Leslie's goofy assistant Andy Dwyer will be featured in a new karate show, and it seems Tom Haverford (Aziz Ansari) will be a successful entrepreneur in 2017. Then Garry Gergich (Jim o'Heir), formerly known as Larry, will be called Terry in the upcoming season.

But despite the fact that there is a significant time jump from last season, the beloved "Parks and Recreation" characters will remain the same. Leslie and Ben will still be married, while Andy will be his usual accident-prone self. Tom might be richer and more successful in season 7, but he will still wear those tacky, sparkly blazers. Garry, or Terry for that matter, will still get other people confused on what his real name is.

However, the newly released promo trailer for the series gives no information about what April Ludgate (Aubrey Plaza) and Pawnee's parks and recreation director Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) will become in the future.

"Parks and Recreation" will be having a 13-episode run in season 7. The show's final season starts airing on Jan. 13 on NBC, and two episodes will be shown per week until its last episode on Feb. 24.
