Fans have been longing to know who will play Brianna in "Outlander" season 2 and their question may finally be answered.

Realty Today dished out on which actress have been chosen to give life to Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie's (Sam Heughan) daughter. According to the website, Maeve Foley's rumored addition to the cast could mean that she would be taking the role of the red-haired, blue-eyed beauty.

Foley reportedly fit the character's description based on Diana Gabaldon's second book. The actress, however, has yet to confirm whether the news is true or not. Speculations on who will be casted as Brianna surfaced after showrunner Ron Moore admitted that they have not found anyone yet for the role. In contrast, new characters for season 2 have already been filled and announced.

Brianna is Claire and Jamie's second daughter, but she was raised in Boston, Massachusetts by Frank (Tobias Menzies). It was not until he died that Claire appeared to bring her to Scotland and introduce her to her real family. Brianna reportedly grew up to be a strong-minded American girl, but being her biological father, Jamie's traits would later on shine through.

Cartermatt reports, however, that rumors on Foley taking on the coveted role is not true. The website has reportedly conversed with executive producer Maril Davis via Twitter, and she denied the rumors that they have chosen an actress for Brianna.

"For those asking any & all REAL casting news will only come from official source like @Outlander_Starz or @sony or sometimes a producer," she wrote in the Twitter Q&A session.

Davis also revealed that production is still ongoing and that it would continue up until New Year. As of press time, they are reportedly working on episodes nine and ten of the historical drama series. She also shared that shooting would be held in Scotland for the rest of the season.

"Outlander" season 2 is expected to air sometime in 2016 on Starz.
