According to Moviepilot, Beth's death will prompt Sarah to launch her own investigation and figure out once and for all how the clones started. The synopsis states that she will follow "Beth's trail down the rabbit hole" to find some much-needed answers. As she dwells deeper in her search, Sarah will reportedly alienate her loved ones, which can mean reverting to her old irresponsible self back in season 1.

While she may be busy with her mission, she will nevertheless find some time for her love life. Executive producer Graeme Manson teased during the Paleyfest that they were planning on something big for Sarah and Cal (Michiel Huisman). The International Business Times reports that last season, she spent some time in Iceland with him and his daughter. Manson quipped that Sarah "deserves some loving this year too."

Meanwhile, Delphine's (Evelyne Brochu) fate will reportedly be revealed early on in season 4. Manson thanked the series' followers for having invested in the plot as he teased on the good news.

"Evelyne is another one of our buds, so you know. Where did she get hit? In the liver? I don't think that's necessarily fatal."

Maslany has earlier told Deadline that the new season would be filled with new mysteries that would change the direction of the show. She said that Delphine would return as strong as ever after surviving the near-death experience. Rachel's mother, Susan (Christy Bruce) is likewise alive and would have a major comeback.
