The clone wars began when the premiere episode of "Orphan Black" season 3 kicked off last week.

The male clones from Project Castor (Ari Millen) are ready to go after the female clones from Project Leda (Tatiana Maslany) for an all-out war, but the reason for their fight was not discussed in the first episode. However, the second episode for the season could give light on why the Project Castor clones are going after Sarah and her sisters.

The official synopsis for the episode titled "Transitory Sacrifices of Crisis" reads:

Castor pursues the Leda clones for original tissue samples. Helena, who is pregnant and imprisoned, is examined by a mysterious new villain. The Castor boys are also out to play, toying with a frightened young woman, Patty, in a sexy switcheroo that ultimately sets Sarah – and Art – hot on the Castor trail. But it's not all fun and games for the Castor boys, as Sarah gleans they may have a mysterious defect that puts their lives in peril."

Meanwhile, series co-creator and showrunner Graeme Manson shared during an interview with Forbes that even though they are exploring the new Castor project, it does not mean that they are already done working on new versions of the Leda clones, joking that Maslany has no threshold on how many characters she can portray for the show.

Manson did reveal that they already have the end in mind for the series at this point, saying, "We have an endpoint to our mystery. We know our main character journeys. So we know where we want that chapter to close for sure. But do we call it a chapter or do we call it the endpoint from now on? That's kind of the trick of the thing."

"Orphan Black" season 3 episode 2 airs on April 25.
