Operation Mobilisation is to pioneer a new range of training initiatives in Zimbabwe in 2011.
The initiatives are aimed at equipping local believers for outreach and mission service.
Church and youth leaders will be trained in sports ministry and a month or prayer is being organised with congregations across the country.
Focus camps have also been arranged to introduce mission opportunities to young Christians who are seeking the Lord’s direction for their future.
It says that in spite of the hardship people are facing in the troubled country, its teams of Christian workers are experiencing an increasing openness to the Gospel.
OM has already been serving in Zimbabwe for many years and its projects, run in conjunction with local churches, include a medical mission to the Tonga people in the Zambezi Valley.
Last year the OM teams, made up entirely of unpaid volunteers, were involved in evangelistic meetings to crowds attending screenings of the World Cup.
OM is asking for prayer for its teams worldwide, who have to raise their own financial support and are continuing to feel the effect of the global recession.
