
A GFXBench result surfaced last week of what is believed to be the miniature version of the OnePlus 3, the Mini. After a report was published, the rumor was immediately shot down.
Phone Arena uncovered a benchmark result of an unknown phone from the GFXBench database. Its specs are very similar to what the OnePlus 3 is offering, only with a smaller screen. It was then speculated to be a OnePlus 3 Mini.
However, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei immediately denied the rumors by posting on Twitter. He said, "No. #rumorshutdown."
The phone in the results shows a 4.6-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC chip with 2.2GHz CPU, Adreno 530 GPU, plus 6GB of RAM. Internal storage is pegged at 64GB, where 53GB is available to the user. The cameras are 16MP main and 8MP on the front.
Meanwhile, the company has hit gold with its OnePlus 3 smartphone offering. The company has decided to stop selling the units in 23 European countries because they have nothing to sell anymore. The decision to halt sales was announced early in the month and efffective from Aug. 9 until Sept. 12. This will allow the company to create some buffer with its available units, IT Pro reported. .
Pei stated on the company's blog, "We were confident in the OnePlus 3 when it launched, but sales in mainland Europe have been way better than what we expected. Therefore, we've decided to temporarily pause sales in some countries in order to give inventory time to replenish."
He added, "We are working hard to secure more stock and fire up more production lines so that we can fulfill our goal of putting premium products into the hands of as many people as possible. With this note I wanted to give customers in affected regions enough advance notice to be able to purchase a OnePlus 3. If you're planning to purchase but can't do it before we pause sales, we'll be offering an in-stock notification service where you can sign up with your email address to be notified when we're back in stock."
OnePlus 3 is a 5.5-inch AMOLED display that offers 1080 x 1920 screen resolution, protected by Gorilla Glass 4, powered by a Snapdragon 820 and paired with 6GB RAM. It has 64GB internal storage and comes with 3,000 mAh battery. The cameras are 16MP for the main and 8MP for the front. It cost US$399.
