The OnePlus 2 is scheduled to be released today, Aug. 11, but the bad news is that if you don't have an invite, you may have to resort to other means to get one.
The practice is nothing new and normally it would be limited to the ones who are lucky enough to get an invite to buy one. But in today's modern world, there are ways to get one without an invite, although it may come at a price.
One example is sites such as Geekbuying, which is currently accepting pre-orders for the OnePlus 2. Reportedly available is a 64GB Sandstone Black version of the OnePlus 2, which is priced a tad higher.
Geekbuying is offering the OnePlus 2 at £316.34, slightly higher than the suggested price of £289.
With the slight difference of about £27 and putting into consideration how hard it would be to get one, that difference should be a small price to pay. Additionally, its powerful specs should be reasonable enough for that price tag.
It would also be wise to consider that based on previous years, stocks of OnePlus devices are bound to run out fast. So if you are inclined to get one, it may be wise to place your order as early as now. You can check out the page from Geekbuying here.
There are also other retailers to check out. One is Oppomart which is selling the 16GB version for $359 and the 64GB version for $459.
Another alternative is Colette Paris which will be offering the OnePlus 2 starting Aug. 11. Colette will have limited stocks on hand for the said device with prices pegged at €339 for 16GB and €399 for 64GB models.
For those who are still unaware, here is a short breakdown on the specs of the OnePlus 2.
The base model of the device will offer a 5.5-inch full HD display and come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. For the 16GB storage variant, you get as well 3GB of RAM, a fingerprint scanner, and a reversible Type-C USB.
It will also feature a 13-megapixel main camera with dual LED flash and a front-facing 5-megapixel shooter. It will rely on a 3,300 mAh battery for its power needs and run on the company's own Oxygen operating system (OS).
