Kevin Durant will undoubtedly be a National Basketball Association (NBA) Hall of Famer one day but that could be a long way off. At just 26, Durant has a lot of playing years ahead of him though he will be feted one way or another by other groups.

That includes the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, an obvious choice considering the things he has achieved and done for the team ever since being drafted as the second overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. He was technically embraced by Oklahoma in 2008 when the SuperSonics relocated there but the change in zip codes hardly mattered.

Durant has done a lot during his tenure. He was one of the reasons why the Thunder made it to the 2012 NBA Finals and brought honor yet again when he was named the NBA's Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2014 wearing the Thunder colors.

He has done a lot considering his age and such is an apparent reason why he was a hands-down choice to be inducted as one of the eight members for the 2015 class last Thursday.

Durant was humbled by the honor, someone who has obviously brought distinction and transformation to Oklahoma.

Could this entice him to stay on in OKC this coming offseason?

Durant is set to become a free agent after this season and is likely to be one of the hotly pursued players in the market. The Thunder will, of course, be at the top of the list, but other teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and Washington Wizards are expected to try and make a lucrative pitch at the All-Star forward.

Durant has opted not to talk about it as the regular season progresses but that does not mean that he will not be a hot item on the NBA rumor mill. Regardless and as he once said, unless it comes from him or anyone among the elite few to whom he trusts his life with, all of those claims are simply false.
