NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080 Ti release date, specs, rumors: card tipped to feature 10 GB VRAM and be cheaper than Titan X

It has been rumored in the past that NVIDIA might produce a video graphics card that is less powerful and cheaper than its Titan X (Pascal) but will offer more punch than the GTX 1080. However, a shipping manifest from Zubia was recently uncovered by internet investigators, and it shows a 10 GB graphics card that is cheaper than the Titan X.

Video Cardz reported that the uncovered document does not directly state that it is a GTX 1080 Ti but, rather, an item designated as PG611 SKU 10 GPU that has arrived in Bangalore. It also comes equipped with GP102 GPU. For comparison, the Titan X Pascal came with a product number of PG611 SKU 00. It is safe to safe that the item is a new card.

Additional information provided by the shipping manifest dictates that the new card has a 384-bit memory bus lane, which is noted to be something odd. However, previous shipping manifests of NVIDIA cards also showed this irregular value — the GTX 660 had a 192-bit interface, and the GTX 970 came in with 256-bit one.

The card's monetary value was also available in the document, which is around $1,000. Now, this does not reflect its MSRP since the value is for insurance purposes only, but it is lower compared to the high-end Titan X Pascal.

Based on speculations, the NVIDIA Geforce GX 1080 Ti could arrive with 3,328 CUDA cores, 10 GB of DDR5 VRAM, and around 10.TFLOPS for single precision compute power. Its transistor count is around 12 billion, 1,503 MHz base clock and 1,623 MHz boosted clock.

Its power requirement is expected to be around 250 watts, which will require an extra power connector, and could have US$900 retail price.

The GTX 1080 on the other hand, contains 2,560 CUDA cores, 8 GB of GDDR5X VRAM, and 9 TFLOPS compute power. It also contains 7.2 billion transistors, 1,607 MHz base clock, and 1,733 MHz boosted clock. It has a power rating of 180 watts, and it is priced between $600- $700.

The still-unannounced card is rumored to be unveiled before Christmas or in early January.
