'No Man's Sky' update: Hello Games' Sean Murray to hold AMA

A good number of fans of the gaming world have probably already heard of "No Man's Sky," the upcoming title from Hello Games. According to the official game description, it is a space and world exploration and survival game, "in an infinite procedurally generated universe. Whether a distant mountain or a planet hanging low on the horizon, you can go there."

However, aside from the teaser trailer and some footages, there is little to no detail available about the game. Fans get lost at the "procedural universe" and "algorithm-created worlds" descriptions. Thus, to make the game more understandable, Hello Games head Sean Murray tried to enlighten fans with a gameplay footage and game discussion as an "IGN first" exclusive on game site IGN. Still, gamers were at a loss on what the game is all about.

Now, it seems that fans can understand the game, at least a little bit, using an unlikely third-party as a resource. In a recent tweet by Murray, he acknowledged a parody video from YouTube. The video, made as a caricature footage for the game, entices viewers to find "the horrible truth" about the upcoming "No Man's Sky." Although the video was made as a comical parody about the game, it seems that the footage is spot-on on what the game is all about – exploring a planet, discovering and naming wildlife and different creatures, and managing both the resources and ecosystem for later expansion of territories.

Meanwhile, Murray is also set to hold an AMA on IGN. The ask-me-anything session is scheduled for July 31, and it is expected that aside from answering questions on what directions and possible other titles Hello Games will be coming up with in the future, the focus of the whole session will be on "No Man's Sky." It is also expected that the most hardcore of questions would hammer Murray about the specific release date of the title.
