Fans of the post-apocalyptic series "Fallout" rejoiced when Bethesda finally confirmed that the fourth installment in the highly-regarded franchise is coming. The confirmation came via a teaser trailer that the publisher released ahead of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. Bethesda then went on to provide fans other information about its upcoming title, revealing other details in its press conference at the annual E3 summit.
The biggest reveals about "Fallout 4" is that Bethesda is targeting a 2015 release, earlier than the rumored 2016 title launch. According to the announcement, the "Fallout 4" releases for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC platforms is scheduled on Nov. 10 this year.
A special edition of the "Fallout 4" title is also in the works. While other titles such as "Metal Gear" celebrate releases with figurines and added content, the "Fallout 4" game special edition will come packaged with a real-life working version of the Pip-Boy. This accessory is central to the "Fallout" series as a standard equipment for Vault-Tec Vaults. The real-life Pip-Boy would require connection with either iOS or Android, and will work together with an app that would allow players to manage in-game features such as inventory, game holotapes, and character perks.
Bethesda also announced that there is a mobile game for the iPhone and iPad based on the "Fallout" series. Titled "Fallout Shelter," the game has already been released on the App Store. In the game, users can build a Vault and manage the Vault Dwellers. The story is not directly related to the "Fallout 4" title, since this will serve as a stand-alone mobile title that mainly plays as a building sim. The title can be downloaded for free, and gamers can also buy "lunchboxes" that serve as random loot crates for different items and rewards.
