NCIS:LA Season 8 spoilers: Eric Christian Olsen teases lots of action in first three episodes as mole storyline unravels

Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) in "NCIS: LA" CBS

Season 8 of NCIS:LA promises to be an eventful season as showrunners plan out a major event in the Kensi and Deeks storyline, possibly an engagement and a baby in consideration of actress Daniela Ruah's real life pregnancy.

It can be recalled that last season, it was implied that something big will happen between the two as Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) brought up the possibility of an engagement. The question was never answered until the season ended, leading fans to believe that the show will pick up from this when the series returns.

"This is probably the craziest season for these two characters that we've ever done. I love the first time they (writers) did that, and this time I think it's an even stronger storyline," Daniela Ruah said, referring to the good storyline given to her character Kensi the first time she went on maternity leave.

The first episode promises to be action packed as the synopsis for the episode hints that the mole will finally be revealed.

Olsen, in a separate interview described the first three episodes to be like a freight train as the impact of the mole will make itself felt very quickly.

"The first three episodes are like a freight train, and the mole is the catalyst for all of that. The mole gets very real, very quickly. They brought in a guest star who's playing this corporate drone who comes in to screw with our team, and our team is in Syria," he said.

Aside from bringing in the Undersecretary of the Navy to personally look into the possibility of a traitor in their midst, Callen (Chris O'Donnell)  will also be given the dangerous task of hunting down a Syrian terrorist.

There have also been rumors the network may be considering the possibility of ending the show after Season 8, given that it got moved to a new timeslot as well as its increasing production costs.

The show returns for Season 8 on Oct. 2.
