With NCIS set to welcome new agents to the team after the departure of senior agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) last season, some adjustments are expected to take place within Gibbs' group.

Among the new additions to the team will be former undercover NCIS agent Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), who is used to working alone but must now establish himself as part of a group, and training agent Alexandra Quinn (Jennifer Esposito) who has had enough of Gibbs rejecting the agents that she sends to him as Tony's replacement. Quinn wants to see for herself what is going on with Gibbs.

In the premiere episode of the 14th season, it is expected that the new agents will make their debut as members of Gibbs' unconventional family.

"Season 14 begins with the NCIS team investigating a deadly car explosion in Washington, D.C., that is linked to an NCIS special agent who disappeared six months ago while on a deep undercover assignment in Argentina. Meanwhile, Gibbs asks NCIS special agent Alexandra Quinn to shadow his team after rejecting eight agents she instructed and referred for an open agent position," the synopsis for the episode entitled Rogue read.

Meanwhile, the synopsis for the second episode — entitled "Being Bad" — hints at a case involving a bomb plot and a theft ring, in addition to a death at a Quantico reunion.

The episode is also expected to show how the new additions to the team will fit in with the senior members of the squad.

A report by Carter Matt suggested that Bishop may be the only member of the team to welcome the new members with open arms as she was in their position not too long ago. It is rumored that the original members of the team may be apprehensive to welcome their new teammates because they are already used to doing things a certain way.

"NCIS" returns to CBS on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 8 p.m. EDT.
