After getting entangled in a murder case, Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi's (Daniela Ruah) relationship has become stronger than ever in the long-running CBS series "NCIS: Los Angeles."
When Deeks was suspected of killing his former partner, his entire team made a herculean effort to prove that he was innocent. Kensi became a rock for him, when she stood by his side and made him feel he was not alone in this trial. Although their love for each other has always been obvious to viewers, they were not exactly vocal about it. That was why when Deeks told Kensi he loved her while still in prison, it was a major moment for them both.
In their recent interview with E! News, Olsen and Ruah talked about the dynamics between their characters and how they were faring while Deeks' fate hang in the balance. The actor shared that Deeks is hiding a lot of things from Kensi. It's because what they have is the "best and most successful relationship he's ever had in his life," and his character does not want to risk what they have. Olsen added that Deeks has done many things in his past that he wish he could forget and he is afraid that once she learns about them, she would leave him.
Meanwhile, Ruah said that although Kensi is determined to stay by Deeks' side through it all, she also has misgivings. She could not understand why he has so many secrets from her. For Kensi, this is the most of upsetting of all. She said that they are not only lovers, they are also friends and colleagues, and Deeks' lack of trust in her hurts.
"That's hurtful not only on a partner level but also on a relationship level. We're supposed to be able to confide anything in each other without fear of judgment," the actress shared.
Olsen, however, said that the most interesting relationships are those tested by the biggest of problems. Once partners are able to overcome the trials, it would make the connection stronger than before. It appears that he is right, as after surviving the hurdles in their relationship, Deeks and Kensi's bond is changed for the better. In the upcoming episode, the two are busy planning their Christmas together. Spoilers Guide reports they are even including their mothers in their schedule. Will marriage be the next thing on their agenda?
