The entire team will be up to their elbows in a field they are not so familiar with in the upcoming episode of the CBS series "NCIS: Los Angeles."

In "Angels and Daemons," the synopsis reveals that the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) will be tapped to investigate the suspicious death of a tech entrepreneur. Upon preliminary probing, they have reason to believe he was murdered because of a secret program he created, a daemon. The word "daemon" refers a computer program that runs in the background while collecting data without the knowledge of the user. The team will find themselves stumped on how to approach the case, as they have rarely encountered a cyber one before.

If used irresponsibly, daemons can be used in small or big scale by people who wish to secretly gather data. It could range from a simple bank account or top government secret. The program is a high security risk that the NCIS must secure before it can cause a cyber meltdown. The fact that its developer was murdered means it has the ability to gather really sensitive information. In the hands of a hacker, the program can single handedly trigger a virtual catastrophe unlike no other.

Last episode, the team was able to prevent what could have been a nuclear disaster. When a Gunnery Sargent turned security guard in a local nuclear power plant fell ill, his tests revealed that he had radiation poisoning. The NCIS went to the plant to investigate, but the owners were not being helpful. Agents Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) had to go undercover as a janitor and security guard in order to get to the bottom of the situation.

They found out that a disgruntled employee sabotaged the plant to expose its dangerous operation to the public. G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) even had to defuse several bombs planted at the nuclear facility. Had the bombs gone off, they could have set off the nuclear rods and cause a nuclear explosion.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 7 airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
