NBA trade rumors 2016: Nerlens Noel reportedly heading to Cleveland Cavaliers

Currently, the Cleveland Cavaliers are keeping their silence this current off-season since they seem to be content with their star player LeBron James signing a new contract and possibly JR Smith will, too. However, rumors still abound and that reports point to a Nerlens Noel trade is currently underway.

According to the Gospel Herald, the reason for this trade is primarily because of the Cavaliers' desire to stop the Golden State Warriors next season. After all, Noel is currently with other big stars in the 76ers such as Jahlil Okafor, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. It can be observed that the team currently has more than enough centers in their team, which means that they are willing to let go one or two of these players in exchange for more advantageous players.

Also, the 76ers are adamantly against trading off Okafor, and with Embiid back in his peak condition, the 76ers are looking for a Noel trade this off-season. As such, with the Cleveland Cavaliers in need of a player who can complement the capabilities of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love on the court, rumors point to Noel being signed to this team for a minimum deal.

Some insiders point out that this 76ers star is willing to be involved in this trade. As such, the idea of getting into a team with LeBron James and the other Cavaliers stars could be a attractive deal for him. Regardless, there are still no official comments made among all the participating parties in this rumored trade. Fans are only sure about the 76ers' desire to trade off one of their centers at the moment.

In any case, Yibada reports that it is also possible for DeMarcus Cousins to be a target for the Cavaliers. The reason for this is that his performance in the recent 2016 Rio Olympics impressed them. However, only time can tell whether or not all these rumors prove to be true.
