NBA trade rumors 2016: Utah Jazz may consider adding Jeff Teague, Jrue Holiday

The Utah Jazz want to address an urgent need, which is to have a legitimate point guard in the roster.

That spot was originally for Dante Exum. That became a problem when the rookie fell to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that sidelined him for the entire season. This eventually forced the Jazz to improvise, with Gordon Hayward and Rodney Hood who are natural forwards but can handle the spheroid well.

The Jazz currently carry a 20–25 win–loss record in the Western conference standings and have a shot at making the playoffs. But to do so, the wards of head coach Quin Snyder need to hook up with a natural floor general and get the players performing their usual roles.

One thing going for the Jazz is that they have the assets to pull off a trade. Names that have been floated are Jeff Teague and Jrue Holiday.

Teague is a name that has been linked as well to the New York Knicks, another team on the prowl for a point guard lately. Whoever lands Teague (if the Hawks are willing to part with him) could depend on what is offered in exchange.

Holiday is another candidate, although his knees have come into question. Seeing as well how the Pelicans are trying to keep their team afloat with injuries on their end, landing him could be hard to come by, unless it involves multiple players that New Orleans could use.

Brandon Jennings could be another possibility, although his name hasn't been linked to the Jazz (yet). Jennings is a loud name in the market right now, but a deal could be made if the Jazz are willing to part with some of their budding stars.

Whatever the Jazz plan to do, they may have to quickly. The National Basketball Association (NBA) trade deadline is fast approaching and if they are bent on making the playoffs, the time to deal is now.
