NBA trade rumors 2016: 76ers, Nuggets interested in adding Clippers' Blake Griffin before deadline?

As trade rumors involving Los Angeles Clippers star forward Blake Griffin intensify, two more teams are being linked to him and these are the Denver Nuggets and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio revealed the reported interest on Griffin, saying via Twitter, "Both Sixers and Nuggets have had discussions with Clippers about Blake Griffin, per league sources. @sn_nba earlier reported Nuggets talks."

If the Sixers are aiming to acquire Griffin, then they need to forget the process and set their attention on the present. In the past few seasons, the Sixers have been gearing for the future, acquiring budding players and selecting top draft picks as they continue to rebuild.

If they successfully land Griffin, Philadelphia puts itself in a must-win situation and needs to focus on contending for a championship, no longer looking ahead.

Along with this, it is very unlikely for the Clippers to trade one of their best players, especially now that they are emerging as title contenders.

Philadelphia is the worst team in the National Basketball Association (NBA) this season, currently having an 8–44 record.

Meanwhile, Mitch Lawrence of Sporting News and NBA XM Radio tweeted about the potential "Griffin to the Nuggets" deal, saying, "The Clippers have talked to the Nuggets about trading Blake Griffin to Denver, per NBA sources."

The Nuggets are one of the teams in the Western Conference fighting for the last playoff spot this regular season.  Adding Griffin would be huge for the Nuggets, a team that lost significance since Carmelo Anthony left and joined the New York Knicks.

Although again, the Clippers are not seeking to part ways with Griffin. However, they seem open to proposals and offers regarding the troubled star.

The Clippers announced on Tuesday that Griffin, who was drafted by the team number one overall in 2009, has been handed a four-game suspension following the off-court incident which led to a broken hand and an extended period of absence.
