NBA Trade news 2015: Shabazz Muhammad on the radar of teams

With Dec. 15 just a week away, it is believed that a lot of teams will start to move in on players, if not entertain trades.

A lot of the players who signed up in the offseason will be eligible for trade by then and plenty are likely to be dealt, waived or bought out. Leading that batch are the players who have most likely disappointed so far.

There are a lot of names that could be moving soon, names like Lance Stephenson and Josh Smith from the LA Clippers. But there is a role player who is recently gaining a lot of interest — Shabazz Muhammad of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Take note that Muhammad is not the kind of star caliber player if you talk about Andrew Wiggins over at the T-Wolves camp. But these days, role players are equally important.

With that said, Muhammad could be put to good use on other teams, although that depends on whether or not the T-Wolves are interested in dealing him for a trade.

To date, there are reportedly two teams interested in Muhammad — the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers, according to sports reporter Darren Wolfson. 

Of the two, it seems that the Lakers are the ones in dire straits, seeing that they are currently floundering with an atrocious 3–19 record, the second worst in the league right now behind the Philadelphia 76ers (1–21).

But the question now is how do they get their hands on Muhammad? How will they make it happen considering the T-Wolves are not totally sold on the idea of parting with 14th overall pick from the 2013 NBA Draft?

Seeing that the T-Wolves have a lot of forwards on their end, a guard could possibly interest them. D' Angelo Russell is unlikely to be the one to be moved, seeing how the Lakers have invested in getting a point guard for their future.

How about Jordan Clarkson? It's possible, but the Lakers will likely ask for something more than a straight player swap.
