"Mr. Robot" season 1 ended with a bunch of cliffhangers that drove fans insane, and season 2 is expected to give resolution to all those. Before it even aired its pilot episode, the hit thriller was already confirmed to have a second season so its huge following will definitely get some answers.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 will pick up from where the first season left off. This means that more details about the big hack will be revealed. The new season will also shed light on Elliot's three-day disappearance, as well as Tyrell's true location.

"One of the things that I love about the finale is that it's essentially queuing up where we're going to go and on top of that, shifting the direction of our story. Now it's not about this mystery within himself that Elliot's trying to resolve," Rami Malek, who plays Elliot, told Entertainment Weekly. "Now it's grown more external. He's aware of what's going on inside of him, and it's leaking out. How's he going to deal with that?"

Meanwhile, the thrilling post-credits scene where Philipp Price was seen speaking with White Rose — a transgender woman masquerading as an E. Corp businessman — hinted that the Dark Army hacker lord was never Elliot's ally even though she was made to look like she was.

"Because fsociety in essence succeeded, I wanted to let audiences know that there wasn't necessarily a victory, rather something larger at play. There are chess movies higher up, higher than the biggest conglomerate on the planet. I wanted the looming threat of something more devious," series creator Sam Esmail told Deadline regarding the cliffhanger.

Esmail still can't quite grasp that "Mr. Robot" was a massive hit. He told Vulture that "a great cult status" would be the summit of the show's success. It seems to have achieved more than that.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 will premiere next year.
