Ed Boon is at it again. With a new character tease for "Mortal Kombat X," fans of the widely popular fighting game know that another spot in the roster will be occupied by another warrior or two soon. The "Mortal Kombat" co-creator has let his Twitter followers know that the "next Mortal Kombat X character reveal & in depth game play demonstration" is set to happen on Jan 29.

According to Boon's tweet, the character uses a bow as a weapon to follow Outworld princess Kitana and Shaolin monk Kung Lao. To get to know the character, fans can check out the live stream from NetherRealms' Twitch channel on Thursday at these times: 1 p.m. (PST); 3 p.m. (CST); and 4 p.m. (EST).

As mentioned by IGN, Boon has also shared the possibility of bringing in not just one but a pair of combatants during the stream event, as well as new videos on top of a gameplay demo the creator promised in his foremost tweet.

In the gameplay trailer released by the game studio showing Kitana and Kung Lao's deadly abilities, players were also promised to get four-armed monster Goro by pre-ordering the title. Among other unveiled characters are Quan Chi, Sub-Zero, Kano, Raiden, Cassie Page, Ferra and Torra, and D'Vorah. The forthcoming title promises a mixture of new and classic characters in the 24-fighter roster.

"Mortal Kombat X" is set 25 years after the previous installment of the franchise, "Mortal Kombat 9." There were earlier reports that the game will require gamers to join one of its online component's five factions, namely White Lotus, Lin Kuei, Brotherhood of Shadows, Black Dragon and Special Forces. Players will have to fight with their best as this will not only be credited to them as individual players of the game but will also be considered as added glory to their chosen alliance.

"Mortal Kombat X" will land on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on April 14.
