Minnesota Timberwolves NBA trade news 2015: Team to trade Anthony Bennett if the price is right

All is quiet about Anthony Bennett right now but the Minnesota Timberwolves are still leaving the door open for a possible trade.

Word about Bennett on the trading block is nothing new. After being the top pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, Bennett has been far from impressive. At only 22, Bennett is still young and could start fresh if given the opportunity. But thus far, he has been unable to do so.

Making his stay in Minnesota in peril is the fact that the Timberwolves have more than enough forwards on their end.

Sophomore Andrew Wiggins is expected to turn it up a notch and hum with incoming rookie Karl-Anthony Towns while there are other players like Shabazz Muhammad and Adreian Payne that can play the center-forward position.

With so many options at coach Flip Saunders' disposal, Bennett is looming as the odd man in the mix.

However, the T-Wolves will only entertain trades if the price is right. Despite the fact that Bennett is not among the expensive players to get, the T-Wolves want something in exchange.

That could be in the form of cash, a future pick, or even perhaps a player they can use in the rotation. The thing is as of to date, no team is biting or showing interest in Bennett.

Such may not be a problem for the T-Wolves since Bennett can stay on for now. But that may not be good for Bennett since by doing so, he is likely to spend a lot of time warning the bench behind other players who can contribute to the team's cause.

Bennett is set to receive $5.8 million for the coming season, the last of rookie contract that is guaranteed. If he is still around after the coming season, chances are the T-Wolves will not pick him up.
