A new update for the Xbox One edition of the popular sandbox game "Minecraft" has been rolled out, and it introduces a lot of additional features to the game. The new update, dubbed as Minecraft 1.6.4, was unveiled by 4J Studios through an announcement via Twitter.

Microsoft also announced the update on its own website, saying:

"To kick things off (even if you're not a new player), check out the brand-new Tutorial World which teaches you how to use the new features in the update, in addition to teaching Minecraft newbies how to play. Once you've explored a bit, if you're up for a challenge, see if you can find all the Music Discs hidden in this starter world."

One of the most noticeable changes seen in the update is the addition of horses in the game. Horses were not normally included in the console version of "Minecraft," but they were part of the PC edition. This time, all the Xbox platforms get the equine characters.

Aside from horses, there are added items featured in the content update that was rolled on Dec. 18. It includes hardened and stained clay, block of coal, hay bale, an activator rail, a block of redstone, a daylight sensor, a dropper and a hopper, a new Minecart with Hopper, Minecart with TNT, a new redstone comparator, as well as a weighted pressure plate. It also includes a beacon, a trapped chest, a firework rocket, a firework star, a nether star, a lead, a horse armor, a name tag, as well as a horse spawn egg.

There are new mobs included in the update, too, such as a wither and wither skeletons, some witches, some bats, donkeys, as well as mules.

The update that can be downloaded on the website works for both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles.
