Milwaukee Bucks trade rumors 2016: Michael Carter-Williams to be traded after poorer performance last season?

If the trade rumors turn out the be true, it would seem that the Milwaukee Bucks will have three point guards should Giannis Antetokounmpo take over the ball-handling duties. However, with these three vying for the prime position, it seems that Michael Carter-Williams could be traded off.

One of the reasons behind this is that Carter-Williams was sidelined last March when he sustained a hip injury, as reported by the Ecumenical News. Before that, though, he was the starting point guard for the Bucks, but even before this setback, it can be seen that he has struggled but he has reached some career-lows, averaging at 11.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.2 assist and 1.5 steals per game.

As such, after his catastrophic injury, the Bucks has announced that as their part of moving forward, Antetokounmpo will have to be their main playmaker. Also, with the off-season, they also acquired Matthew Dellavedova, who fans can remember was a part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and was fresh from a successful championship run before getting signed on to the Bucks.

With this, Carter-Williams can be seen as a possible trade piece for the Bucks since the adjustments in the roster has made Antetokounmpo and Dellavedova more eligible for the point guard position. So in case the rumors are debunked and he stays with the Bucks, he will most likely be a reserve, which is certainly a first for him.

Most people expect this shift of duties to not sit well with this 24-year-old athlete, but in a recent interview with the Philippine Star, Carter-Williams sounded positive despite possibly becoming a bench player. He said that he used to be upset about the idea, but he now understands that everyone does their part for the team and that the coach will always know what's best for the team.

Regardless, without any official announcement, Carter-Williams's fate is still unknown.
