Meet the first ever Premier Gospel Choir members

Thirty-four made it straight onto the choir and were taught a song by choir director Marcia McPherson, which they performed on finals night.

The remaining spots were filled after further hopefuls were asked to sing again before a panel of judges to win their place.

The panel included Alisha White, runner up on Britain's Next Top Model, Premier Gospel Breakfast Presenter Nage, and Premier Christian Media’s Events Manager Michael Malan.

The night was hosted by Premier Gospel's MC Timmy, with special guest appearances from London based rapper SO, Gospel artist, Michelle Marbie Davies and singer songwriter Mide.

Muiywa Olarewaju, Premier's Gospel Tonight Presenter & award winning artist commented, “The Gospel Choir Search has been an exciting experience, and I’m overwhelmed by the competence level of the people who have participated in the auditions.

"The search has also been encouraging, and I'm happy that the Premier Gospel Choir is giving new talent a voice and an opportunity to express themselves in music.

"What’s even more phenomenal is the fact that the choir is already getting bookings.”

Peter Kerridge, CEO of Premier Christian Radio said: “The whole Choir Search has been a blessing. We’ve seen people audition from all walks of life, and it’s as been a chance for Gospel singers to showcase themselves.

"The Premier Gospel Choir has already been booked for events across the country - and this was before we’d even finished the first auditions. The choir will inspire and stir the soul of UK Gospel fans with truly blessed music.”

The choir will sing at Premier events and already have bookings from other Christian event organisers.
